Our Story

About OPE Coffee

Our fundraiser started with a simple idea: offer our community a high-quality product that returns 20% back to the PTA in order to further support our students. OPE Coffee was born! We needed to ensure a commitment to transparency and sustainability, so we partnered with The Generous Bean Coffee Company, a local roaster who provides small batch, specialty-grade, artisan coffees sourced only from importers committed to transparency, ethical practices, and the empowerment of all people involved in the production process. Small actions can lead to big results. Every bag of coffee sold supports our students and teachers while ensuring that your morning coffee helps lift small farmers in the developing world out the cycle of poverty. So, please help us create meaningful changes for our school and students by purchasing a bag of coffee or signing up for a coffee subscription. Help and FAQs

We are a PTA sponsored platform selling specialty coffee to raise funds for important school projects and initiatives that the school doesn’t have budget to accomplish on their own.

Twenty percent of every coffee purchase goes directly toward funding school projects and initiatives.

We offer a selection of small batch, specialty-grade, artisan coffees, including light roast, medium roast, espresso roast, and decaf, all ethically sourced and freshly roasted in North San Diego County.

We ship to the contiguous 48 States. Unfortunately, we cannot ship to Alaska, Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, or other countries.

Free shipping is automatically applied to the following: (1) Any coffee bags donated to one of the listed causes, (2) Any shipments containing two or more bags of coffee being delivered to the same address within USPS Zones 1-3, this is within approximately 300 miles of OPE, or (3) any shipment containing three or more bags of coffee being delivered to the same address within USPS Zones 4-8. Please note that if you ordered a "donation" bag (or bags) with your shipment, those bags do count toward the total number of bags required to achieve Free Shipping.

Orders that do not qualify for free shipping will be assessed a shipping charge of $3.50 per shipment. Yes, you heard that correctly: the cost is only $3.50 per shipment, even if the shipment includes more than one bag of coffee and no matter where the shipment is going in the contiguous 48 States!
